Speaking of Praying to the Hair God ...

So this was recently, Last week actually. Meet Makensie. She had a mishap with color, but luckily it wasn't too tricky to fix, it was quite easy, just very, very time consuming. I had a situation with another client where the same color line was used, and it wasn't too difficult to remove. When I spoke with her via text I was terrified of what I may be taking on, but knew I had to fix it. I wont bash anyone, but I will say that doing vivid colors (pastels included) isn't something you can half ass, and it's not as simple as just mixing up a color and slapping it on...

With this being said, we made an appointment for the weekend, but she realized she couldn't do it, and I asked if she wanted my first available, just to do an olaplex treatment, since I was convinced she'd need one. I can't say on here why, but I was so thankful I didn't. I was thankful that the stylist who did her color decided she didn't need to bleach to achieve the color that Makensie wanted to begin with. So I got her in the following day.

She had send these via text and here you see her "rose gold 'ombre' " *rolls eyes* note : her goal was an almost white into pastel pink ombre... which after talking we decided the upkeep for that wouldn't be the best for her specifically.. anyway - The color itself was really pretty - it just wasn't done right for what the client wanted.

expectations vs. reality.

Day of - I get her in my chair and I knew right away what color was used but wanted to make sure and had her call the salon and ask, that way I would know what to do to remove - Oxidative vs. direct. Wella instamatic, easy peasy - it's not to difficult to remove thankfully, and decided how I would tackle this. Getting the information that she had walked into the salon with lightened ends and quite a few inches of regrowth, I knew that I needed to lighten up her roots first, so I mixed up my formula with olaplex of course and applied it to her mids. After, I added some trusty Antidot to my formula and applied the roots, I let that get to a light, pale yellow, and mixed up a new concoction for her ends!

So I toned - I used Pravanas express tones in violet / clear. MAGIC. Pravana is life - if you didn't know already <3

And then I applied two different formulas to achieve a multi dimensional pink that will last. I took a section on the top of her head and that was Pravana's Vivid Pink and everything else was Pravanas Pastel in Pretty in Pink. The Pastels on their own are very soft and don't last long so this way we can have a comparison as to how each fades out - I can predict that the Pink will fade out to the pastalized pink and the Pretty in pink will fade out to the gorgeous blonde that is underneath. Anywho, lets give you what you're looking for -

The wind was driving me crazy that day - ugh, the struggle - ITS REAL.. So above you got, processing porn, you got inside (fluorescent lighting) and outside light. two different colors. It always blows my mind how much lighting dictates what you see and also how color, no matter how gorgeous it is in real life...pictures don't do it enough justice.

Any pictures that I've posted that you want to see featured? I had one hell of a week and I've got so much to show for it, but there's TOO much, and now, if you haven't seen it all over my social media ;] I am planning my art project for a showcase at RAWARTIST BOSTON. WAHOOOO! <3

here's a tease...
